CENTRO ECOTURISTICO ESCOBILLA TEAM
After the closure of the sea turtle in the 1990s, the conservation group understood the great tragedy that the sea turtle was suffering. For this reason, they decided to fight against its exploitation for more than 20 years. Today, this great team works every night to protect as many turtles as possible and their nests against human predation.
The Escobilla Ecotourism Center is located in the indigenous community of Escobilla, coordinated by a group of 13 people from the community who organized themselves as a cooperative.
They are dedicated to sea turtle conservation in the Escobilla Beach Sanctuary, considered one of the most important Natural Protected Areas worldwide for the survival of the Olive Ridley turtle (Lepydochelis olivacea), where more than 2 million turtles nest en masse during the nesting season from June to February.
OUR VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM IN ESCOBILLA

Every 15 days we develop a workshop to teach them about nature, biodiversity, climate change and more, trying to engage them and for them to empathize with nature. If you are interested to help out, take a look in our volunteering program.
