Servicios Ecoturísticos La Ventanilla team
Initially, the group was mainly engaged in fishing and farming. After contemplating that the resources were effectively decreasing more and more, they decided to work for the conservation of Nature. They concentrated their efforts on caring for the crocodile population of the lagoon and deers, two species over-exploited for their meat and skin.
Nowadays, they are a group of 17 people that, depending on the season, can employ up to 30 people from the community, making Ventanilla one of the few communities that 100% of the people are working for ecotourism, living from nature without exploiting natural resources.
